VALMETAL IN RUSSIA

Last fall, members of our sales team went to Russia to visit several farms to follow up on the implementation of our automated feeding systems.

A REAL CHALLENGE

One of the farms visited is Mamonovka Farm, located in the town of the same name, where almost 2,300 dairy cows are treated. The main challenge for our team was to suggest the best possible combination of equipment to maximize the operations of a farm of this size. To date, it is the largest Valmetal automation system we have installed.

A DURABLE SOLUTION

The proposed system only produces batches without distributing them. The process consists of putting the different ingredients in Combox silage reserves and concentrated silos, then letting the Autoration Pro automated system pick up the desired amount of each ingredient according to the group of cows to be fed (Heifers, 1st lactation, dry cows, etc.). The ingredients are then transferred to mixers.

In order to get the most out of the system, our team proposed to work with two 630 cu.ft. (18 cu.m.) mixers. In this situation, the stationary V-MAX 630 was the most appropriate. The process begins with the preparation of a first ration in the first mixer. When ready, it is unloaded using an unloading conveyor into distribution boxes used for feeding the cows. During the unloading of the first ration, the Autoration Pro automated system prepares another mix in the second mixer. That way, TMR (total mixed ration) is produced in large quantities and without interruption.

Their stay in Russia continued by visiting other farms with our dealer Transfaire.
